In 2021, with the help of state funding, the Briermost Foundation started On the Road of Recovery to inspire hope, reduce stigma and humanize addiction. Since then, we’ve traveled across Ohio in an RV interviewing individuals in recovery from addiction to share their hopeful stories.
Erin Helms, the executive director of On the Road of Recovery has been involved in recovery housing in Cuyahoga County since 2014. Since the first recovery house was established, her advocacy for recovery work has continued to increase. As a person in long term recovery, she is passionate about advocating for people with substance use disorders.
The On the Road of Recovery team includes a project manager and video editor. Many people who have contributed to the project since its inception are in recovery themselves and everyone is deeply passionate about the work we are doing.
